Law and Religion in Africa Conference 2014 to Be Held at Stellenbosch University
The second annual Law and Religion in Africa Conference is being hosted by the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Theology at Stellenbosch University from 26 – 28 May 2014.
Tom Bennett, editor of Traditional African Religions in South African Law, is a member of the local organising committee.
Registration for the event is open and Justice Albie Sachs and Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng will be speaking. The theme of the event is “The Quest for the Common Good in Pluralistic Societies”.
The first Law and Religion in Africa Conference was held in Accra (Ghana) in January 2013.
The second conference will be held in Stellenbosch from 26 – 28 May 2014. The Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Theology (Unit for the Study of Law and Religion in the Beyers Naudé Centre) of Stellenbosch University are the hosts for this event together with various other international and national co-hosting institutions.
